Allen heads in to All Star game with big scoring

The Allen Americans are heading towards the ECHL All Star break
with big scoring. The ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, beat the
Tulsa Oilers in a high scoring 7-2 win on Saturday night at BOK
Center, to even the weekend series at one win each.
In an impressive offensive showing on Saturday night, the
Americans jumped out early to a 4-0 lead in the first period. Olivier
Archambault netted two goals in the first to bring his season total to
12. Joel Chouinard and Gary Steffes also lit the lamp as the Americans
scored twice on the power play in the opening frame.
Steffes returns to Allen after a summertime retirement. He
continued his hot streak since re-joining the Americans, with two
goals on the night, bringing his total to three.
“We got off a to a fast start, said Americans forward Gary
Steffes. “Archie, (Olivier Archambault) scored the first two goals of
the game and got us going. We kept moving our feet moving and made the
most of our chance. Williams (Stephon) made some big saves for us
tonight and our power play was clicking.
The scoring streak would continue into the second period with two
early goals for Allen. Eric Roy netted his 10th of the season on the
power play and Miles Liberati scored his 4th.
The Americans power play unit was also very effective on the
night, scoring three goals on five power play opportunities. Americans
All-Star, David Makowski, tallied four assists on the night will be
heading to the ECHL ALL-STAR game in Indianapolis!
