Riders Classic set for July 10 at Stonebriar Country Club
Proceeds benefit scholarship program, Boys & Girls Club of Collin County
The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers,
are proud to announce the 10th Annual Riders Classic Golf Tournament
presented by Park Place Lexus, benefitting the RoughRiders Foundation
Scholarship Program and the Boys & Girls Club of Collin County’s bus
The Riders Classic will be held on Tuesday, July 10 at
Stonebriar Country Club on the Tom Fazio course. Team registration for
foursomes is $600 and individual registration is $150. Proceeds from
the tournament will benefit the RoughRiders Foundation Scholarship
program, which awards scholarships of $1,000 to 10 North Texas
graduating high school seniors. Proceeds will also benefit the Boys &
Girls Club of Collin County’s bus fund to provide resources to add
gently used buses to their transportation fleet.
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of Collin County serves 3,133 students
and has the potential to serve hundreds more but must have additional
buses to meet this need,” said Mike Simpson, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs
of Collin County. “We currently serve about 2.2 percent of the
students in the school districts with whom we partner in Frisco,
McKinney and Plano. To serve a greater number of students who want to
be in our clubs, we must add new buses and replace older ones.”
The Riders Classic Golf Tournament is a four-player scramble
format tournament beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Breakfast
and lunch are included with entry into the tournament. A silent
auction and raffle will be held throughout the day with prizes awarded
at the end of the tournament.
“The Riders Classic is a great event at a fantastic venue for a
wonderful cause,” RoughRiders manager Joe Mikulik said. “It’s a
tremendous opportunity to connect with our fans, sponsors and the
entire community. It’s not a secret that I love golf and this is the
event I look forward to every year.”
Sponsorships are also available for businesses and individuals.
