Texas won the 2018 Big 12 baseball regular-season title outright with a victory over TCU combined with an Oklahoma State loss to Texas Tech on Saturday.
Texas (37-18) finished 17-7 in Big 12 play to claim the program’s eighth Big 12 regular-season title and the first since the 2011 campaign. The Longhorns edged Oklahoma State, which finished with a
16-8 mark in Conference action.
Texas will be the No. 1 seed in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, May 23-27, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
Texas was predicted to finish third in the league’s preseason coaches’ poll. Texas is the first team other than TCU or Texas Tech to win the regular-season title since 2014.
All-session tickets for the event start as low as $69 and total 15 games, including the if necessary games on Saturday. The championship will feature a total of eight sessions, all of which include two games except for Sunday’s championship finale at 1 p.m. Single-session tickets are also on sale.
Additionally, group tickets for parties of 10 or more start at just $12 per ticket and include an in-game scoreboard message on the centerfield video board.
There will be three theme nights at the ballpark this season, starting with the Tailgate Party on the Mickey Mantle Plaza from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 24. Future All-American Night will take place on Friday, May 25. After the completion of the last game, fans can stay to watch fireworks. Lastly, Sunday, May 27, will be Big 12 Family Day.
Fans can purchase tickets by visiting Big12Sports.com/BuyTickets, okcdodgers.com or through Ticketmaster. Tickets are also available by visiting the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark box office or calling (405) 218-2180.
