Dallas Athletic Club to hold New Year’s Eve Flag Raising to Tee Off 100th Year Anniversary Celebration
The historic Dallas Athletic Club will kickoff its 100th year
Anniversary Celebration with a special flag raising ceremony on New
Year’s Eve, at the prestigious club in Eastern Dallas County.
The two-sided flag with the official DAC 100 logo, attached, will
be raised during DAC’s traditional New Year’s Eve party on the golf
course side of the large clubhouse. A brief fireworks display will
cap the first event of a year-long celebration at the club.
“We’re certainly honored and excited to celebrate this year-long
milestone, truly a century in the making, said DAC GM Brent Burkhart.
Among the many events planned for DAC during the 100-year
celebration is the publication of a hard-cover book showcasing a 100
years of club history along with an official club portrait. Golf
legend and course designer Jack Nicklaus, who won the first of 5 PGA
Championship here in 1963, will make a day-long May appearance to
salute the club for its celebration of memories and memorable events.
The Blue Course, which Nicklaus designed, will play host to the
2019 Texas Amateur Championship, the Lone Star States largest and most
prestigious amateur golf tournament in June. An official 100-year
Anniversary Party will be held in the fall among many other events for
members and guests.
