UCLA REMAINS ATOP THE NCWBA POLL TO END THE 2019 REGULAR SEASON

 DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 22nd year with its 2019 weekly surveys and this week UCLA is the No. 1 selection and has remained in the top spot for the 11th-straight week.

The top three spots stayed the same this week, with UCLA sitting at No. 1, Vanderbilt at No. 2 and Stanford at No. 3. Oklahoma State jumped into the top 10 this week, moving from No. 13 to No. 9 after winning the Big 12 Championship title.

Overall, there are four SEC schools, two Pac-12 programs, two ACC schools and two Big 12 teams in the top 10.

The biggest movers of the week were Fresno State, Ole Miss and North Carolina, as each jumped up seven spots in the poll. Fresno State went from receiving votes to No. 23 after winning the Mountain West Tournament title. Ole Miss moved up seven spots to No. 17 after making it to the SEC Tournament title game. North Carolina also improved seven spots to No. 13 after winning the ACC Tournament championship.

Fresno State, Indiana State and Indiana all moved into the top 30 this week, coming in at No. 23, No. 28 and No. 30, respectively.

The 2019 poll voters come from among 35 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. After a preseason Top 40 listing, the remainder of the polls feature a national Top 30.

This week’s current survey has representation by 11  different conferences among the 299 baseball-playing schools in the 2019 NCAA Division I ranks.
