With the Texas Rangers’ season coming to an abrupt, and somewhat surprising, end myself, Mike Mcghee and Patrick Despain, who pinch hit for the The Coach Jeff Johnson, we talked about whether or not Wash should shoulder more blame than he has, at what point the team would need to move on without him, and we also talked a little about, who else, Josh Hamilton.

While there seems to be a consensus that Hamilton won’t be back with the Rangers, there is some agreement that he is a hard player to replace. When he is locked in, there is little doubt he is the best player in baseball. But it’s when he decides that he isn’t wanting to play baseball on any given day that he goes from being the best to being one of the more distracting players.

Is it worth it to bring him back?

We also discussed the teams off-season needs, where the biggest holes are going into 2013, and a possible Elvis Andrus trade that we kicked around as well.

But the highlight of the night came in our second segment as we were joined by Chris Herren who talked about his story and his recovery, how big of a role his wife has played in turning his life around, as well as how much the city of Fresno and, his coach at the time, Jerry Tarkanian meant to him and why he went back to the central valley just to make a face-to-face apology to Tarkanian.

All that and a lot more on this addition of Scooping the Texas Rangers!
