The Allen Americans closed out a four game road trip tonight in Salt Lake City at the Maverik Center with a thrilling 6-5 overtime win over the Utah Grizzlies. Allen won in overtime on  an early goal  as Casey Pierro-Zabotel scored the game winner on a breakaway for his second of the season. Allen won 3 of 4 on the road trips with their first ECHL visits to Colorado and Utah.The Americans ( 4-2) return home to play the Missouri Mavericks next Saturday night for the Halloween Spooktacular at Allen Event Center. Bring the kids for trick or treating on the concourse as well as a costume contest for both adults and kids.
  “Overall a very successful road trip,” said Allen Americans defenseman Aaron Gens. The guys are starting to get use to each other, and were getting results on the ice. We’re looking forward to having a few days off until we play Missouri”Following the overtime victory GM/Coach Steve Martinson said,” we still have a lot of work to do but we’ll take it.’ Allen is only 1 for 18 on the power play which is well below last season while their special teams are killing 94% of their opportunities. Goalie Joel Rumpel has a   .936 Ssave percentage and 1.76 goals against.
