Florida and Georgia extended their series contract with the City of Jacksonville, Fla., through the 2021 season. The teams have met at that neutral site annually since 1933…Charlotte will play Maryland in a home-and-home series in 2022 and 2023 and will play at Indiana in 2022 and ’23…North Dakota State will open its 2016 season with the ESPN College Kickoff Game on Aug. 27 in Fargo, N.D., against Charleston Southern…Indiana and Kentucky are looking at some possible future series in football and other sports…Boston College and Richmond are looking for a new opponent to replace their previously contracted game in 2017…North Carolina and Tennessee have scheduled two future men’s basketball games and are investigating a football series…UNLV is seeking to max new non-conference opponents in financial terms and strength of schedule…West Virginia football expected some final tweaks in personnel and assignments as spring practice started on March 13. The Mountaineers also will play their spring game on April 23 at the Greenbrier Sports Performance Center.

North Texas businessman Jay McAuley has been elected to a two-year term as Chairman of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association, the sponsoring agency of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. He is the president of Texas Health Resources Foundation based in Arlington, Texas, and his involvement with the CBAA dates back to 2006 as a member of the Board of Directors. He is a Texas Tech graduate, four-year letterman at Tech as an offensive lineman from 1982-85 and has served as vice chairman on the Classic’s Executive Committee for the past five years.
