The Frisco RoughRiders return to Dr Pepper Ballpark Tuesday to
begin a six-game homestand against the Springfield Cardinals (St.
Louis Cardinals) and the Tulsa Drillers (Los Angeles Dodgers).
On Saturday, August 20, the Riders are hosting the first-ever
Saturday Night Pool Party in the Choctaw Lazy River. For only $39 per
ticket, a Saturday Night Pool Party ticket allows individuals to enjoy
full 360-degree Lazy River access, all-you-can-eat hot dogs, brats,
chips, peanuts, and Dr Pepper products. Adults 21 and older can enjoy
complimentary Palm Breeze samples along with great drink specials.
The Riders will also host a pair of exciting theme nights during
the homestand, including Olympic Night on Friday, August 19 and Star
Wars Night on Saturday, August 20.
On Olympic Night, presented by Palm Breeze, the Riders bring Rio
to the ballpark and celebrate the success of Team USA at the Olympic
Games. As part of the festivities, Olympic bobsledder Johnny Quinn
will be on hand and available for a meet-and-greet with fans. The
first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free pair of USA
Olympic sunglasses, courtesy of Palm Breeze. Plus, stick around after
the game for a free fireworks show presented by Texas Ford Aquatics,
which fans can watch from the field.
The next night, the Riders will host Star Wars night at Dr
Pepper Ballpark. The Riders will wear special storm trooper-inspired
jerseys and hats. The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game,
with proceeds benefitting Talk About Curing Autism. Additionally,
there will be Star Wars characters around the park for fans to
interact with and take photos. After the game, fans can enjoy another
Saturday Post-Game Party, featuring half-price drinks starting in the
ninth inning and a free post-game performance from country music
artist Rachel Stacy.
Additionally, the Riders kick off the homestand with the second
bobblehead giveaway of Michael Gruber (@TweetGrubes), the RoughRiders
ambassador of fun and DFW social media legend. The first 500 fans
will take home a free bobblehead. Additionally, fans can enjoy another
Thirsty Thursday at Dr Pepper Ballpark, featuring $1 domestic draft
beers, $2 craft and import beers, $2 Palm Breeze beverages, and $1 Dr
Pepper products from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Plus, it’s another “Groovy
Grubesday,” starring Michael Gruber himself.
Thursday also marks the latest Thursday Night Pool Party in the
Choctaw Lazy River. This week’s pool party is sold out, but tickets
still remain for the final Thursday Night Pool Party of the year on
Thursday, September 1.
During Sunday’s Kids Sunday Funday, Kubo, Beatle, and Monkey
from the new animated movie Kubo and the Two Strings will be at Dr
Pepper Ballpark. They’ll be joining kids and their guardians for a
free pregame catch on the field and will be available for photos
during the game.
There will be also daily game specials throughout the homestand,
such as Taco Tuesday, and Weiner Wednesday. Plus, the Riders play
their final two games of the season on Fox Sports Southwest Thursday
and Sunday.
