Baylor, Kansas State and Oklahoma Win Weekly Awards

Oklahoma’s Austin O’Brien along with Kasey Ford of Kansas State
and Baylor’s Troy Montemayor and Shea Langeliers have been selected
for the 13th set of Big 12 baseball weekly awards. This is the first
career honor for all four players.
Austin O’Brien, Oklahoma
Sr., 1B, Owasso, Okla.
* Drove in a team-high six runs in a series win over No. 5 TCU at
home this weekend, hitting .357 (5-for-14) with a .714 slugging
percentage and provided the Sooners with a walk-off hit on Sunday to
clinch the series.
* Sunday was a career day as O’Brien posted the first five-RBI
game of his career in a 3-for-5 effort.
* With runners on the corners and one down in a tie game in the
ninth, O’Brien delivered the game-winning run with a line drive single
into left-center field.
Troy Montemayor, Baylor
Jr., RHP, San Antonio, Texas
* Posted back-to-back multi-inning saves to seal a series win and
sweep in the last two games at Oklahoma State.
* For the week, he posted four innings in three appearances while
allowing a hit and two walks with three strikeouts, two saves and held
opposing batters to a .091 average.
* Moved into second all-time at Baylor with his 25th and 26th
career saves. He currently has a career-high 10-appearance scoreless
streak with 10 strikeouts in his last 10.1 innings.
Kasey Ford, Kansas State
Fr., RHP, Bella Vista, Ark.
* Stellar in his Sunday start at KU as he scattered four hits over
seven scoreless innings of work.
* Struck out three without yielding a walk in his career-long
outing to collect his third win of the season in a 10-3 victory over
the Jayhawks.
* In the game, KU hit just .154 against him with only one
extra-base hit and were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
Shea Langeliers
Baylor, Fr., C, Keller, Texas
* Hit .471 (8-for-17) with seven runs, one double, two home runs,
four walks and eight RBI in five Baylor wins.
* Extended his hitting streak to seven games with hits in all five games.
* On Sunday at OSU, he had two runs, two RBI, two hits, one walk
and his eighth homer. He had multiple RBI in four of five games in the
